Job Overview

The Sales Executive is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving sales targets. This role involves actively engaging with potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting suitable solutions from Binary City’s range of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively source and generate new business through cold calling, field prospecting, canvassing, networking, and direct outreach (this is a core requirement of the role).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Understand clients' needs and provide tailored solutions from Binary City’s range of services.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Maintain a high level of self-driven activity, including daily prospecting, pipeline development, and client engagement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support lead generation initiatives, while taking ownership of personal lead generation efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors’ activities.
  • Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to the Sales Manager.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent Binary City and expand the company’s network.
  • Proficiency in sales CRM software such as Odoo or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing a sales pipeline, including deal tracking, sales forecasting, and maintaining a healthy sales cycle.

Compensation

  • This role offers a commission-driven remuneration structure.
  • A small basic salary is provided, with a 10% commission on all sales once the monthly target of R100,000 is achieved.
  • This role is best suited for individuals who are confident in their ability to generate their own pipeline and are motivated by performance-based earnings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the security, technology or software industry.
  • Proven track record in new business development (hunter profile), not account management.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a commission-driven environment.

Other Requirements

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Must be willing to work remotely and have access to  a stable internet connection.
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven with a proactive approach to sales.
  • Must be comfortable with fieldwork and spending significant time outside the office generating leads and closing deals.
