Job Overview

The Software Support Consultant provides technical support and assistance to clients using BC Time and other custom-developed applications. This role involves troubleshooting software issues, resolving technical problems, and ensuring clients receive timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients using BC Time and custom-developed applications.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and resolve technical problems reported by clients.
  • Analyse and diagnose software-related issues, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Assist in the implementation and configuration of software solutions for clients.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve software bugs and enhancements.
  • Document support cases, solutions, and customer interactions in the support ticketing system.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients on software usage and best practices.
  • Stay updated on product updates, new features, and industry trends related to software support.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software support or a related technical field.
  • Experience in an IT environment, with a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux.
  • Confident using Linux commands and navigating the Linux environment.
  • Passionate about providing helpful, reliable customer service.
  • Holds a valid driver’s licence and is willing to travel as required.
  • Helpdesk experience would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience with SQL databases and basic scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Afrikaans is considered an advantage.
