Our Visit to Hope Baby House
Friday, 28 November 2025 was more than a date on the calendar — it was a reminder of what it truly means to make time for hope.
Team Binary City visited Hope Baby House, part of the Hope for Life Foundation, to deliver donations collected through our Make Time for Hope campaign. What we experienced that day touched every heart that walked through their doors.
A Warm Welcome, and Hearts Full of Purpose
The Hope for Life team greeted us with warmth that instantly made the home feel like family.
CEO Rosalind Schlabitz led us through the facility, sharing their vision for future expansion and showing us where the little ones sleep, eat, and play.
We met the children — some of whom have experienced unimaginable challenges — yet today, they are surrounded by care, safety, and love. One of the most touching moments came when we learned that the Namibian Government recognises adopted and biological children equally, yet there are still not enough people adopting. That reality struck a deep chord with many of us.
Moments That Stayed With Us
Holding the babies - pure love. As one team member put it, “Getting to hold the babies was the best part — it was truly something special."
Note: We didn't take images of the kids - Respecting the children's privacy policies set by the Foundation, to which we totally agree.
We saw the older children returning from school, joining the caregivers to help with the younger ones — a real family dynamic, where everyone plays a role.
Each caregiver is lovingly called “Mommy,” followed by her name, a simple yet powerful reflection of the bond they share.
A Glimpse of Faith in Action
What truly warmed our hearts was seeing how this campaign extended beyond Binary City — how our friends, clients, and community members joined hands to make it possible.
Among them were two incredible ladies who personally delivered bags full of hand-knitted dolls, each one made with care and love for the little ones at Hope Baby House. Their thoughtful contribution reminded us that hope isn’t just about giving — it’s about sharing humanity through kindness.
Hope in Action: Thank You, Namibia
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible — our staff, clients, suppliers, and friends. Your donations and support remind us that hope grows stronger when shared.
Our team left inspired and humbled, but realised that we may not have the answers today. These questions played in our minds as we left:
“Will the kids be okay?”
“Will more people donate to the cause?”
“Will the older children find families?”
One thing is certain to help make a difference — You and I. If each of us do what we can, in our own way, these kids will have a chance in life. Let's give them a chance. Make Time for Hope.
It’s not too late to be part of this story.
